To the Editor:
Colin Powell endorsing Obama is understandable; what's not is the intent to still call himself a Republican.
About 70 years ago, the civilized world was practically begging the U.S. to help save them from evil. We did, and also stopped the ability of communism to prevail, all with initiative created by our patriotism of freedom allowed by our Constitution (the document our elected officials are sworn to uphold).
We are allowing that initiative to be destroyed by elected officials who refuse to accomplish the job they swore to do. Some of these same "officials" claim Sarah Palin is not qualified to do the job because she's an "ordinary person." What does our constitution say? Of the people, by the people, for the people, nothing about "ordinary" people not being qualified.
Liberalism has been working at eliminating our freedoms since the decade of the 60's (you know, the decade that did away with JFK, Martin Luther King, & Bobby Kennedy, who was running for president at the time of his assassination).
Socialism has NEVER worked, simply because every person is allowed to be born free. The dictionary's definition of socialism is: the principle that the interests of the community should prevail over the interests of individuals: any of various plans for greater public control of property, business & industry.
Liberalism creates poverty!

Single-issue voter? ABSOLUTELY!
If you can not respect and protect the sanctity of life, why do you think a person of a perverse ideology would even consider protecting other rights. Our rights come from God and are protected by our Constitution. Persons like Mr. Obama believe their ideology is "god," and want to force this upon the people. Their ideology promotes the elimination of those who disagree or refuse to conform. This is why they are so pro-abort, that's right, I said pro-ABORT, not just pro-choice.
The true definition of the "separation of Church and State" protects us from Mr. Obama and his likes.
So, am I, or you, or anyone else a single issue voter? Answer: we all are, whether you like it or not. You vote life, everything else will take care of itself. If you don't, well, you have the reprobates who stand against righteousness, even unveiled as they are in this election cycle.

Mr. Obama will not provide proof of birth as a natural citizen, and he states he wants to transform, not uphold, but transform (to a Marxist state) the United States form of government. Read the excerpts below from our Constitution, and note how they protect us from such a person(s) like Mr. Obama and his associations.

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation: — "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
